Note

This feature is currently in a test phase and is not yet available to configure and start using. This documentation will be updated when it is ready to activate.

This functionality allows the user to use their device camera to read a QR-code which then opens up a door or gate with the help of the Go Active! App. The feature includes:

  • Dynamic QR-code together with Gantner GT7 reader. The reader's display can show a dynamic QR-code which allows the user to scan it and enter the facility.

  • Static QR-code. For readers that doesn’t have a display to show a dynamic QR-code, it is possible to generate a static QR-code which can be printed and posted on a door/gate.

User Flow

1.
The QR code scanning for mobile entrance starts with the user tapping on the “key icon” in the explore page.

2.
Then the user will be prompted to select which method they want to use. If “search for nearby entrances” is selected, Bluetooth scanning will be started. And if “scan a QR code” is selected, the user will be directed to the QR code scanner.

3.
Next, the user will be shown a camera view. The user is required to give camera permissions to use this functionality. The user needs to point the camera to the QR code and it will be scanned automatically.

4.
If the user has the sufficient rights to access the door or gate that they are trying to unlock, a success message is shown and the door then opens up. Otherwise they will be presented with an error message letting the user know why they are not allowed to open the door.

    Dynamic QR-Code

QR-Codes generated by BRP on special hardware

InfoTo enable QR-Codes in the GAT7 hardware (must be set by BRP personell)

Gantner GT7 readers can be configured to display a dynamic QR-code (QR-codes which are updated for every passage in contrast to one static QR-code).

    Info

Contact BRP-support for help configuring your Gantner GT7 reader to show dynamic QR-codes.

Configuration of dynamic QR-codes on Gantner GT7 reader in BRP Cloud and Gantner cloud:

    1. Add the value qrCodeMobilePassage=true to

    Extra properties
    1. “Extra properties” on the GAT7 port.

    1. 2. The QR-code is built on the ID of the reader and its passagetoken, which will be generated when the port gets the value added to it.

      Example:
      48;a5d49803-af00-423c-8839-7771e1aa6e7d
      ID of reader = 48
      Value of passagetoken = a5d49803-af00-423c-8839-7771e1aa6e7d

How to manually find passageToken belonging to readers:
    select id, passagetoken from cardreader;
QR-codes should always be displayed as dynamic codes (GT7 in API-mode). A static QR-code will work but is less secure. (GT7 can display a static QR in template mode)

    Static QR-Code

For readers that doesn’t have a display to show a dynamic QR-code, it is possible to generate a static QR-code which can be printed and posted on a door/gate. Customers will then be able to scan the QR-code with the GoActive! app to open the door/gate.

    Info

The static QR-code can only be generated by BRP staff. Contact our support for further help.
