What's new?
Please note that number of reports are the same as before. The idea with this new version of Embedded BI is to make the user experience more pleasant, get a better overview of the data, make each report more user friendly and more interactive. Primarily layout has changed on many of the reports, but with that said, what you could retrieve in the last version of Embedded BI you can also retrieve in this new version (plus more).
Key differences
Straight table
Straight table as a visualization object has replaced the pivot table. The reason for this being that the end user becomes more free in terms of sorting.
Clicking on the header of each measure will sort the column high to low or low to high accordingly.
Option to display dimension
Option to display dimension of your choice in many of the visualization object.
In many of the reports you will have a drop down pane where the end user can decide by themselves which dimension should be reflected in the visualization object.
Example:
“Diff” column
Choose how you want to display the “diff” column.
In many of the table throughout the reports in Embedded BI we have columns that calculated the difference between two time periods. Now you can decide for yourself how you want to display this, in actual numbers or in percentage.
Green means that the dimension is activated and grey that it is not.
information button
In every report you will se an information button in the top right corner. If you click on it you will be taken to our Confluence site for Embedded BI where we gather documentation and useful information regarding BI. Note that depending on which page you are on you will be taken to subsection for measure description and detailed information about the measures we use throughout the reports and how they are calculated.
Useful information
Useful information added. On some of the report where necessary we have added a section to the left with useful information, to help the end user better understand the report in question.
Drill down function
Drill down function in some of the visualization object. When this function is available, “click + enter” on a specific bar (see below example) will drill down into this dimension to the next level. I below example product name à Group activity start day. Also note that this sometimes activates a new table with more detailed information about the selection made.
Sales report new functionality
Sales report new functionality. Same logic as on other reports with the buttons activating certain functionalities. In this case Revenue will activate two visualization objects and Sales amount will activate three visualization objects.
