How to prevent customers from abusing their data carriers / mobile entrance

Purpose

To stop customers from letting their friends enter for free

Use cases:

  • The customer enters using a data carrier, and then hands the data carrier over to a friend that enters through the same gate.

  • The customer enters using a data carrier, and then hands the data carrier over to a friend that enters through a different gate

  • The customer enters using mobile entrance, and then lets a friend enter using their data carrier.

Configuration

  • Setting "TEMP_TOGGLE_MinimumTimeBetweenReadsForPassagetry" (enabled by BRP staff)

  • Properties on reader

    • Minimum time between card reading (by card number, in seconds)

      • Used to reduce the load on the port server if needed (recommended setting: 10 seconds) but limited to a specific card number

    • Minimum time between card reading (in seconds)

      • Used to reduce the load on the port server if needed (recommended setting: 1-5 seconds) but not limited to a specific card number

    • Minimum time between admissions (in seconds)

      • If a data carrier (with a specific card number) is used, then minimum time is per person and card number. For mobile entrance (mobility), minimum time is per person. Examples:

        • Mobile entrance then data carrier entrance -> Not blocked (OK)

        • Data carrier entrance then mobile entrance -> Blocked (Too soon since last passage)

    • Group ID for minimum time between admissions

      • Sets a group for the field (“Minimum time between admissions”) so that it is used for multiple readers.

Use cases

Wait before next person can use the reader

Used for locks (where two doors are used to prevent persons to enter in the wrong direction)

Exceptions for staff and special needs

If "Override antipassback" on the “Activity” tab of the person card is enabled, there is no limit for how many times a person can enter using a data carrier (card/wristband) or the mobility app.
