Web categories make up the foundation and navigation of your App and Web, these are what the customers see when they arrive at the explore page.

The categories can be configured to offer different kinds of products and services to your customers, you pick the size, images, texts and colors for each category.
You are also able to use a category as a building block for your explore page, by inserting a title between categories as a divider for example. Web categories can also be sorted and rearranged from BRP.

The "Show in app" option has no effect without this setting

Examples

  • When selling subscriptions where you want to present e.g. "Silver subscriptions" and "Gold subscriptions" in separate lists.

  • When displaying group activities where you only want to present spinning sessions.

Configuration

Configuration > Web and app > Web categories

  1. Click on the + sign

  2. Name = Header text of category

  3. Description = Describe what products or services you are offering within the category.

  4. Type - This changes the behavior of the category.

    Product - For selling or booking products*
    Product - Product type
    - Class
    - Subscription
    - Service
    - Event (Web Only Currently)
    - Value Card
    - Item (Web Only)
    - Entry
    * Only products that are bookable via the Internet are selectable.

    Title - A header text to divide or name a row of categories
    Information - Informative texts with HTML-support, to link outside of the Web/App or simply for nice text formatting.

  5. Company = Customers that belong to this company are the only ones who can see this web category from the explore page, when signed in.

  6. Facility = Customers that belong to this facility are the only ones who can see this web category from the explore page, when signed in.

  7. Display period = If nothing is set, the web category is always visible, otherwise it will be visible during the set period.

The "Show" checkbox must be ticked for the web category to be visible.

The 'Show on customer website' checkbox indicates whether the web category should be displayed on the Web.

The 'Show in app' checkbox indicates whether the web category should be displayed in the App.

It is possible to change the order of the web categories with the "Up/Down" buttons in the list where you see all web categories. You can also sort products within the subscription web category with the “Up/Down” arrows.

Check the "Featured" box and the web category is enlarged to the full width of the Web, in the app the box grows in height.

Check "Include in: Shortcuts" if the web category should be included in the shortcut button in on the Web. This setting can also be retrieved via API3.
