1.5.1 Fingerprint Verification

The fingerprint is stored with a number of control points on the card in a specific memory location intended for this purpose. The reader matches a checksum of these points during finger and card reading.

No data regarding this leaves the reader, and it is not possible to recreate a fingerprint from the data to be used in another system, even if one had the data.

The reader only informs BRP whether the fingerprint is present on the card or not, whereupon BRP asks the reader to perform the verification.
