Since BRP needs to be able to communicate with hardware connected to customers' local networks, this requires, in addition to port forwards, that the facility has a static public IP or a dynamic DNS.

BRP is neither responsible for nor able to offer this to customers, customers must in the first instance contact their ISP to request a static public IP, (important that it is IPv4).

It is becoming increasingly common for ISPs to place their customers behind CGNAT, it is important to point out that this cannot be used if the customer has local hardware that BRP needs to communicate with.
