Sell Subscription in Point of Sale

This page describes how to sell a subscription in Point of Sale.

1. Find the Person Who Will Pay for the Subscription

   • Search for the person in BRP, or create a new record if they do not already exist.

   • If no payer has been selected yet, you will be prompted to choose one later.

2. Select a Subscription Product

   • Choose a subscription product from the product menu on the right.

3. Check Against Existing Subscriptions (Subscription Matching)

   • If the customer already has a subscription of the same type, a prompt will appear asking if you still want to continue.

4. Autogiro Subscription

   • If the subscription is a direct debit type, BRP will later request the necessary information for direct debit authorization (such as personal identity number and bank account number).

5. Review the “Create Subscription” Dialog

   • A dialog titled “Create Subscription” will appear. Verify the details and click “Next.”

   • Change the subscription user if it is not the same person as the payer.

   • If the user already has a subscription of the same type, and on the new subscription’s start date it is billed, bound, or automatically renewed, the system will warn you in the dialog, but you can still choose to create the subscription.

6. First Billing

   • BRP suggests the first debit in the next step.

     • For subscriptions fully paid upfront, the billing covers the entire subscription period.

     • Autogiro Sweden: If the subscription is sold on or before the 15th of the month, the customer is only charged for the remaining days of the current month. If sold after the 15th, the customer is charged for the remaining days of the current month plus the entire next month.

     • Avtalegiro Norway: The subscription is always billed through the last day of the following month.

7. Click “Complete”

   • The dialog will close, and the subscription product is added as a receipt line for the current receipt tab.

8. Pay and Complete

   • Click “Pay” to finalize the payment.

9. Print Out Subscription Documents

   • After payment, any subscription agreements will be listed for printing. (See Subscription Agreements for details on customizing reports.)
