Are you using a Mac with TouchBar?
If you are using a laptop Mac with a TouchBar, you need to press the “fn” key, situated to the bottom-left in order to bring upp the F-keys on the TouchBar (see below).
For example, to execute Shift-F12 in BRP you need to press Fn-Shift-F12 on a Mac with a TouchBar.
