Dimensions
Activate Dimensions
Settings
BRP Configuration → Settings > Settings (Finance)
useDimension1
useDimension2
Enable one or both "Use dimensions" settings depending on how many dimensions you want to use.
Dimensions
Configuration → Economy → Dimensions
Click on one of the dimensions and add new items and their item numbers (an item could, for example, be the cost center "Service" or the project "Autumn Campaign").
Dimension numbers are used during journal transfers to match dimensions between BRP and the accounting system. These usually don't need to be reviewed in SIE files but can be adjusted if issues arise.
Accounts
Configuration → Finance → Accounts
Click on an account.
Here, you can select, for individual accounts, whether dimensions should complement account numbers in journals. For example, you might want to use dimension 1 for facilities but exclude dimensions for your bank account.
Dimensions at Company Level
Dimensions without company connection are shared across all companies.
Dimensions with company connection are only used by the specific company.
When a user selects a dimension, for example, to assign it to a product, they can choose between:
Dimensions at the system level,
Dimensions linked to facilities the user has full access to, and
Dimensions linked to companies for facilities the user has access to.
Using Dimensions
Dimensions can be assigned to accounts, resources, individual products, cash units, customers, or facilities. When making a booking, the dimension can be modified at the time of booking. Ongoing revenues, such as subscriptions and contracts, are assigned a dimension object, which it uses during billing with the same priority as the product.

Subscriptions
Subscriptions receive a dimension based on the rules above. Once a subscription is created, the dimension object assigned to the subscription will always be used for future billings.
Note: If the facility is intended to control a specific dimension, set it as Dimension 1 in BRP for full functionality.
How Dimensions Are Reported in Payment Journals/Invoice Journals
The account number is complemented with an object number.
Time-Controlled Dimensions
In Configuration > Finance > Dimensions, you can specify whether a dimension should be time-controlled. If this option is selected, a time interval will be displayed for the dimension objects.
All unbilled bookings that start within the specified time interval will automatically be assigned this dimension object. When creating a new booking or changing the start time of a booking, the system will check if there is a designated dimension object for the specified time.
This dimension object takes precedence over objects assigned to customers or products.
