Create or update person (next generation wizard)

This wizard provides a simple and safe way to create a person, making it possible for the system administrator to add instructions to each step.

Configuration that change the behavior of the wizard

  • The wizard is enabled on role

  • If customer types are configured, they are used in the wizard. If the customer types have a age ranges and are configured to be applied automatically, they are set by default on matching age.

  • Manually created fields (BRP Configuration > Persons > Manually created fields) that have the property “Use in new person wizard” set will be in the “Personal details step”

Select unique fields for matching persons

These settings change which are used for matching on existing persons.

  • "Wizard - Create person - Match person on ID/SSN" (default true)

  • "Wizard - Create person - Match person on mobile phone number" (default true)

  • "Wizard - Create person - Match person on email address" (default true)

Message templates (used for instructions)

  • “Wizard - Create or update person - Step 1 Identification“

  • “Wizard - Create or update person - Step 2 Register new customer”

  • “Wizard - Create or update person - Step 3 Personal details”

  • “Wizard - Create or update person - Step 4 Additional information”

  • “Wizard - Create or update person - Step 5 Completion”

Templates can be found in the “Wizards” category in Configuration > Settings > Messages

Some HTML tags can be used in the message templates

  • <br> for a new line

  • <ul> for an unordered list item (bullet without number)

  • <li> for an ordered list item (bullet with number)

Launching the wizard

If enabled on role, the wizard can ONLY be launched from this icon in the Point of Sale
(no other module work)

Steps in the Wizard

1 - Identification

In this step, unique fields are used to verify that the person is not a duplicate. If the person is already in the system based on one of these fields, the user can proceed with the existing person.

  • Personal number (Sweden only)

  • Email address

  • Mobile phone number

2 - Personal details

Enter required and optional information, including manually created fields

3 - Customer type

Select customer type

4 - Additional information

Photo and card number

5 - Completion

Confirm the information before finalizing.
