Entry Product
General Information
An entry ticket grants the buyer a Right for a specified period, for example, someone who buys an entry pass to a fitness facility can be granted the right to enter, reserve group activities, and use the gym. A common use for entry products is in the form of clip cards.
This documentation explains the information needed specifically for entry products. See General Settings for Products for information about products in general.
Entry tab
BRP Configuration → Products → Products
Validity (hours and minutes)
Specifies how many hours and minutes the customer may remain in the facility. Once this time has elapsed, the customer is not permitted to exit through an exit reader. The validity period never exceeds midnight (00:00) on the same day the entry was used.
Rights
Indicates which of the predefined rights the buyer of an entry pass receives.
Print out entry ticket
Determines whether a ticket is printed when a customer enters the facility with an entry pass.
Admittance Type
Used to separate customers heading to different parts of the facility, allowing for separate statistics (e.g., spa vs. gym).
Create entrance during sale
Makes the entry pass immediately valid, so its validity period begins counting down at the moment of purchase. This requires certain settings to be configured by BRP staff. It also assumes that the client setting brp.entrySale.port
points to the registration reader, which BRP staff will configure.
Activate locker during sale
Allows lockers to be available right away, without the need for an initial scan of the entry pass (only applies to offline lockers).
Permit multiple entrances during the validity period
Enables the customer to pass through multiple entry readers as long as the entry pass is valid (see Validity Period). For instance, this might be used to grant access to a locker room that has its own entry control after the customer has already passed the main entrance.
Opens alternative entrance
Check this option for products intended for stroller- or wheelchair-access entrances. It is only relevant in facilities that have a separate door/gate for these entrances and in which both that gate and the regular gate are controlled by the same Gantner reader.
Credit type
Prepaid and Credit both means that a person who has entered with this entry ticket can pay for purchases using the card/wristband.
Credit limit
Only specified if the credit type is “Credit”.
Product for pre-payment
Only specified if the credit type is “Prepaid”.
Behavior at Access Points
If the validity is 00:00 and it doesn’t allow multiple entrances during the validity period, the entry is consumed as soon as the user passes an “In” or “Inside”-type reader.
If the validity is 00:00 and it does allow multiple entrances, the entry is also consumed when passing an “in” or “inside”-type reader, since no validity period were set.
If the validity is 06:00 and it doesn’t allow multiple entrances, the entry is consumed 6 hours after the user first passes an “in” or “inside”-type reader. During these 6 hours, the user can continue to pass through “inside” readers but cannot use an “in” reader again until the entry is renewed.
If the validity period is 06:00 and multiple entrances are allowed, the entry is consumed 6 hours after the user passes an “in” or “inside” reader.
Scanning an “out”-type reader always consumes the entry, regardless of the validity period or other settings.
If you are using a clip card, one clip is deducted for each consumed entry.
Limit the number of free entrances a person can buy
(TP49296 / 2023.1903)
Setting: limitNumberOfFreePurchases
A new setting "limitNumberOfFreePurchases" limits the number of free purchase based on price list to one per slot/day. This can be used to let a person with a subscription buy a free entrance every day, or for every slot, but still be required to pay for any additional entrances.
The person has a subscription with a right that gives them a price list with the price 0 for the specific product.
This works both online (API and in Point of Sale).
