Introduction
A resource is a location, person, or item that you want to plan usage for. This is done by scheduling the resource's availability, and then different types of bookings can be made. A resource is used to sell services. For example, the service "Massage 30 min" may require a resource of type "Staff" with the resource label "Masseur" and a room with the resource label "Treatment Room" to be available.
Create a Resource
Go to Resources and click on "New".
Enter the resource's name, which will appear in the booking view.
Choose a resource type. The resource types "Room" and "Staff" are always included in the BRP installation, but you can add your own resource types for example for different types of equipment or different groups of staff.
For rooms, select one of the schedules you have created, e.g., the schedule corresponding to your opening hours.
If the resource is staff, check the "Is Staff" box and select the person from the contact registry. This assumes the person has been added to the contact registry and marked as staff.
Delete a Resource
Go to Resources.
Select the resource to be deleted and click on the "Delete" button.
A confirmation dialog will appear asking, "Are you sure you want to delete the selected record?"
Click "Yes" to delete the resource or "No" if you want to keep the resource.
A resource that is booked cannot be deleted.
If you receive the error message "The record cannot be deleted. The resource is used by...", it means that the resource is being used by one or more products. In this case, you need to double-click the resource and remove its product competencies in order to proceed.
Resources that are deleted can be restored by BRP's support technicians. There will be a charge according to the applicable price list.
